The Texas Education Agency (TEA) is excited to announce the Resilient Schools Support Program.
Resilient Schools Program
The Resilient Schools Support Program will select up to 40 school Local Education Agencies (LEAs) to support during school year 20-21. Selected LEAs will be matched with a highly qualified district support organization. That support organization, in partnership with TEA and your regional Education Service Center, will support LEAs to do the following things:
- Evaluate the effectiveness of your remote or hybrid learning model(s)
- Support you in crafting improvements to your remote or hybrid learning model(s)
- Support the implementation of co-developed improvements
- Connect you to agency or related resources to support improvements
Through this program we will support LEAs in continuously improving their remote or hybrid learning model(s) during the school year. These improvements could include adapting your existing curriculum, adopting new curriculum (such as Texas Home Learning 3.0), supporting teacher development, revising schedules, better serving special populations, improving student and parent engagement strategies and other related topics. Due to the highly fluid nature of the school year, TEA reserves the right to modify the programs or supports.
Selected districts must commit to making the Resilient School Support Program a cabinet-level priority, establishing a full time point person for the project, and be willing to make significant improvements during the fall semester.
Eligible Applicants
All Texas districts that are operating remote or hybrid school settings during SY20-21.
Selection Process
TEA will send a webinar invitation to all LEAs that submit a letter of interest. All webinar attendees will then receive an application. TEA will select LEAs based upon the strength of their application, objective measures of need, and evidence of willingness of the LEA to implement significant improvements during the school year. TEA will seek to ensure that all sizes of districts and regions within the state are included in the program. TEA intends to select LEAs and match them to their support organizations by Monday, August 24.
